Are you ready to throw out your bleached soaked sanitary products and eco friendly? Why not try the Moon Cup!!!
Moon cups are one of the many menstrual cups on the market, which are basically silicone cups you insert into your vaginal during your period to collect your menstrual flow and empty and re-insert them every few hours as you would do with a tampon. Moon cups are roughly 2 inches tall and fold up inside you to be able to collect your flow but not be noticed.
There are so many to choose from, but here are some reasons you may want to choose the Moon Cup
The Mooncup is…
Made from soft, medical-grade silicone, it’s so comfortable you can’t feel it’s there. While tampons absorb 35% vaginal moisture, the Mooncup menstrual cup won’t dry you out or leave fibres behind.
Your Mooncup is always there, ready. No last minute dash to the shops, no stockpiling different absorbency pads or tampons. The Mooncup frees you from having to throw away used products or carry bulky spares (whether smuggled up your sleeve as you head to the toilet or taking up backpack space on your travels).
Holding 3 x more than a regular tampon, the Mooncup gives you longer lasting protection on heavier days. And because it’s non-absorbent, it won’t cause dryness when your period’s light.
You only need one Mooncup® that pays for itself after 6-8 months – you’re then saving that monthly spend on sanitary protection.
Latex-free, hypoallergenic and containing no dyes, perfumes, BPA, phthalates, plastic, bleaches or toxins, the Mooncup menstrual cup is ideal if you have sensitive skin or allergies.
Environmentally Friendly & Cost Effective
Think of all the pads you buy during your menstrual life and how long they take to decompose? If you’re using a Natracare or other plastic free towel or tampon that’s great, but many of us aren’t. So our towels are sitting in landfills adding to our global problems. But Mooncups, if looked after last year, cost a fraction of what you’d spend on any type of disposable towel or tampon and create no waste for years.
The Moon Cup comes in 2 sizes

Cleaning Before Use
Once you get your cup, you can wash it with a natural soap and water, rinse throughly and then let it sit in a bowl on boiling water for 5 mins to sterilise it, Let it completely dry before putting it in it’s bag until time for use.
How to insert your Moon Cup
Before using it for the first time, you can run it under a hot tap as a precaution, especially if it hasn’t been kept in it’s closed bag. Once cleaned, you basically need to fold it and gently push it into you vagina. It’s easiest to do this standing up, with one leg up on the toilet of the side of the bath etc, or squatting down over the toilet with your knees wide apart.
