Our Sea Moss (Carrageen) gel is made my washing and soaking the dried cut sea moss in filtered water and fresh lemon slices, then boiling for 10mins in distilled water, before canning in sterilised glass jars.
Nothing is added in the process and a thick nutritious gel is created, ready for you to add to your fruit smoothies, nut milks, ice creams, soups, stews, gravy, tea, porridge, pudding and more.
it’s used as a thickening and gelling agent to make vegan cheesecakes, mouses and other desserts .
It is a naturally occurring source of iodine and carrageen and it is rich in vitamins, minerals, particularly potassium chloride and dietary fibre.
The late great Dr Sebi spoke on several occasions about the health benefits of sea moss due to the 92 nutrients found within it
You can start with 1 – 2 tbsp a day and 1-2tsp for children
Store in the fridge once received and opened. It lasts 3 weeks in the fridge or you can spoon the gel in to ice cube trays and freeze for up to 3mths. You can pop out however many cubes you need at a time.
Note: (Irish) Sea moss/Carrageen is not to be confused with Carrageenan. Carrageenan is an extract taken from Irish moss and used in processed food – this extract is heated and processed with other chemicals. Therefore, the nutritional properties are damaged and this becomes a different substance from pure (Irish) Sea Moss (Carrageen).
