Your Guided Journey to Wholeness Starts Here
A fuller, more balanced life rests on three pillars: Health, Happiness, and Harmony.
But how do you turn these beautiful ideas into daily reality? As The Naturally You Coach, I created this journal to be your hands-on companion for exactly that journey.
Health, Happiness & Harmony is more than a title — it's your roadmap. It translates the core principles of my coaching into pages, prompts, and practices designed specifically for the Black woman's experience. It's where intention meets action.
Why Journaling? A Personal Note
I'm finally beginning to get it.
It's finally beginning to make sense.
I can see how useful — life-changing, even life-saving — this simple practice has been all along.
I first discovered journaling as a teenager. Back then, it gave me space to share my confusing thoughts, dreams, fears (lots of fears), and track important life events — like buying my first CD or who my best friend was that month.
Then life got in the way. Other seemingly more important things took up my time, and I lost my way. I only came back to the page when things were really bad — and occasionally, really good.
But I've come to believe that things might not have gotten as bad, as often, if I'd pulled myself away from mind-numbing, anxiety-inducing screens more often to put pen to paper.
The power of this simple practice — writing down a few thoughts or many, using prompts to explore new questions, or simply noting what you're grateful for — is amazing.
And for those who can't always find safety in their world, a blank, inviting page is like a loved one opening their arms and saying: "Come here, baby. Tell me everything. I'm listening, and you're safe."
Since publishing the first edition of this book five years ago, I've lost both my parents and my home, lived through a global pandemic, opened and closed two clinics, and faced the hardest, most gut-wrenching challenges of my life. Apart from my family, the one thing that's helped me most is journaling.
I'm a huge advocate for therapy — I've worked with four therapists in this time too. When you find a good one, they're worth their weight in gold. But when the session ends and you're left with your thoughts, you need a safe landing for them — a place to explore and understand without judgment. Journaling can be that place.
During my lowest days, I would literally look forward to the end of the day so I could get my pen out and write, release, scream, cry, and melt into the page. It might sound dramatic, but I truly believe it saved my life.
I don't want to lose my way again. I want to commit to this for a lifetime — not necessarily daily, but at least consistently.
Journaling — writing down your thoughts, feelings, moods, emotions, triggers, hopes, goals, plans, dreams, joys, fears, decisions, revelations, reflections, and everything in between — is a simple but profoundly powerful act of ongoing personal development and self-discovery.
Whether you're on a health journey, navigating a career change, stepping into a new role (mum, grandma, auntie), moving through a relationship transition, starting a business, or any other personal development journey — this practice can be the shoulder to cry on or the space to celebrate in.
To quote my expert journaling eldest daughter:
"Journaling helps me track my moods and feelings, look back to see how I've changed, keeps me on track with my goals so I don't forget them, and it helps me organize my life."
— Mattat (14 years old at the time)
I truly believe in modelling excellence. Alongside meditating, waking early, goal setting, vision boarding, and mindful eating, journaling is a habit so many successful people share. Whether it's a little daily or a few pages weekly, consistency is where the real benefit lives.
How to Use This Book
I created the Health, Happiness & Harmony journal to keep you inspired, motivated and organized on your health and life journey. There is a set of initial planning and goal setting pages, to give you some focus to move forward with.
There are tracking pages throughout the journal to allow you to see your progress with the goals set at the beginning or throughout the journal.
There’s a sprinkle of colouring pages throughout the journal to let your creative juices flow and make something lovely.
I’ve also included 99 of my original quotes, focusing on eating for health, thinking for happiness, living in harmony, holistic health, children’s health and women’s health, some of which come with writing prompts based on the quote and questions to ponder during your writing and life.
The book is split into 4 sections of quotes & prompts on:
1. Eating for health,
2. Thinking For Happiness
3. Living in harmony
4. & Holistic health
But most importantly, there are plenty of blank, undated lined pages for you to write; plan, track, list or journal however works best for you.
There is no set order you have to work though the journal in, use it however feels best for you
Enjoy, with love, Leah
